You never know what might happen on the field. Over time, I have also realized the importance of having reliable turf shoes. Therefore, we have tried and tested the best launches of women’s lacrosse turf shoes in recent times and curated a list for you.  Give it a read to pick yours because not all field cleats can give you a win on turf.  New Balance Freeze V5 Turf Shoes Key Features: Designed specifically for women’s lacrosse, the New Balance Freeze V5 turf shoes are built to provide the comfort and support needed for high-intensity games. Women players appreciate the wide toe box that fits perfectly and runs true to size, ensuring a comfortable fit throughout the game. The nubbed rubber outsole of the Freeze V5 provides excellent traction on turf, allowing for quick movements and sharp cuts. This feature is crucial for lacrosse players who need to accelerate and decelerate rapidly.  The synthetic and engineered mesh upper offers durability and stability, while the inner bootie ensures a snug fit. I’ve seen players enjoy the confidence boost that comes with knowing their shoes can keep up with their fast-paced game. One of the standout features of these shoes is the adjustable lace closure, which allows for a customized fit. This is particularly important for female lacrosse players who may have different foot shapes and preferences.  The ability to adjust the fit ensures that you can focus on your game without worrying about discomfort or blisters. I have noticed that this feature makes a big difference in overall performance and satisfaction. Pros Cons Nike Alpha Huarache 8 Pro Lacrosse Turf Shoes Key Features: We have been wearing new Nike Alpha Huarache 8 Pro lacrosse turf shoes for a while now, and they are one of our favorites. These unisex shoes are lightweight with a supportive mid-cut collar, suitable for turf conditions.  It was super comfortable on the field with these TPU-built cleats. Besides, these shoes also prevented rashes and blisters after aggressive practice sessions, especially during hot summer days. Since it’s a common concern, your feet will remain practically dry. Thanks to the breathable meshwork, there was no accumulation of sweat. Well, we picked them because of the active pegs in the center of the outsole. They provide extra grip and traction on turf, even during the quickest turns. The lace-up closure system also provided me with good ankle support. Nike Alpha Huarache 8 Pro performed exceptionally on the field.  We liked how the no-slip tongue and heel design kept the foot well-supported and pain-free even after long practice hours. We could confidently pivot, cut, and sprint on the field without feeling congested.   Considering the low price tag, We were unsure of the quality and durability of the Nike Alpha Huarache 8 Pro lacrosse. However, they surprised me.  Some customers complained that the pegs fell out within 3 months. However, they proved to be a long-lasting purchase for me.  Pros: Cons: New Balance FreezeLX v4 Lacrosse Turf Shoes Key Features: New Balance always comes with stylish, functional, and supportive cleats. Released in 2022, New Balance FreezeLX v4 lacrosse turf shoes are still among the best women’s lacrosse turf shoes. We loved the sleek and traditional design. We immediately noticed the fresh foam technology when We upgraded the New Balance FreezeLX v3 lacrosse cleats. For me, the FreezeLX v4 proved to be more responsive and comfortable with superior cushioning at the midsole. These shoes allowed me to play at top speed a minimal feeling of the impact.  Besides, the breathable overlay, TPU built, and rubber wrapping at the toe cap, the mid-cut collar collectively make it the safest women’s lacrosse turf shoes. It kept me safe from unwanted ankle twists.  Moreover, the durable rubber compound at the outsole gave me an excellent grip and traction on the turf. The sole grip helped me balance the body weight while making quick cuts and direction ships.  However, it showed some signs of wear and tear only after one season, most likely due to traditional tongue construction. Thus, considering the price, we would say, one has to be careful with extremely aggressive strides. We feel that the New Balance FreezeLX v4 is a snug fit and comfortable pair for turf surfaces. we liked the toe box being a wide-foot player. So, if you are one of those players who like some room for toe wriggle, it’s for you. Pros: Cons: Mizuno Women’s Ambition 3 FP Low All-Purpose Lacrosse Turf Shoes Key Features: Even though we don’t prefer purchasing all-purpose cleats, we tried Mizuno Women’s Ambition 3 FP Low All-Purpose lacrosse turf shoes. Well, it was not a mistake.  Released in 2023. these cleats are designed with L-shaped studs to provide maximum grip to agile female players on various surfaces. However, being a lacrosse player, we found them to be the best for artificial turf. However, the multidirectional stud configuration is also suitable for beginners trying different games.  Being the victim of foot rashes and blisters, we always look for comfortable lacrosse shoes. we like the step-in comfort of the Ambition 3 FP Low from its two-layered insole material from toe to heel. It kept feet blister-free during long practice sessions.  we feel that the padding could have been improved. Satisfied with the comfort, we went on to check if they provided ample traction and flexibility. we were impressed by the smoothness, even during quick multidirectional movements. The dodging and screening were smooth while creating minimal impact and extra responsiveness. The design undoubtedly looked tempting, but these were not true to size. Thus, considering the narrow front, the sizing was a bit of an issue for me. The shoes ran a bit small for me at first, but it was fine after the break-in period.  We think that the Mizuno Women’s Ambition 3 FP Low is worth considering If you are a defender or midfielder looking for comfortable cleats. Best Women’s Lacrosse Gear Backpacks for Equipment Storage https://laxdrip.com/womens-lacrosse/best-womens-lacrosse-gear-backpacks-for-equipment-storage/ https://laxdrip.com/womens-lacrosse/best-womens-lacrosse-gear-backpacks-for-equipment-storage/#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2024 18:40:06 +0000 https://laxdrip.com/?p=19646 Table of Contents I have curated a list of the best women’s lacrosse gear backpacks with comparable options on the market so that you do not have to browse these products separately. Best Women’s Lacrosse Gear Backpacks The following is the comparable list of the best women’s lacrosse gear backpacks: Maverick Storm Lacrosse Bag View on sportstop Key Features Position Universal Gender Female Year Released 2023 I have got to say that Maverick knows how to nail both the accessory and equipment game. The Maverick Storm lacrosse backpack is a real standout with multiple color options. Released back in 2018, this medium-sized pack is built tough with heavy-duty fabric, and let me tell you, it is exactly what a female lacrosse player needs. The layout is simple yet effective. With two main compartments – one at the front and one at the back – it has got all the space I need. The back compartment has a padded sleeve where I could easily slip in my 15.4” laptop. And let us not forget about the ventilated shoe compartment on the outside. It is spacious enough for all my gear and cleats. There is a handy stick holder and mesh water bottle carrier on the left side. Now, you might look at this bag and think it is heavy, but trust me, it is surprisingly lightweight. The padded backside and straps make for a more comfy carry, and it strikes that perfect balance between rigid and flexible. With dimensions of 19” L x 14” W x 10” D, it holds its shape well. I liked the zippers. They are quite easy to handle. After three months of solid use, those straps were still going strong with no signs of wear and tear. For me, the chest connectors were a good addition. No more slipping and sliding on my shoulders like with other backpacks lacking them. But here is the thing, while it is great for women’s gear and equipment, it might not cut it for men’s lacrosse gear. And it is worth noting that while the fabric is tough enough to fend off dirt, it is not water-resistant. So, if you are caught in the rain, better pack an umbrella. Pros Durable and Tough Great Value at $60 Simplistic Design Ample Storage Compartments Lightweight Multiple Color Options Cons No Water Resistance No Helmet Strap Overtime Tie Dye Junior Lacrosse Backpack View on lacrosseunlimited Key Features Position Universal Gender Female Juniors Year Released 2023 The Overtime Tie Dye Junior lacrosse backpack is hands down one of the coolest and most practical bags out there. Just looking at the vibrant dye job on this thing, you can practically feel the good vibes radiating from a Coldplay concert. Released in 2023, this medium-sized backpack is crafted from sturdy 600D Polyester, making it built to last and super user-friendly. Measuring in at 18” L x 13” W x 9” D, the dimensions are just right. Inside, you have got one spacious main compartment that easily accommodates all my playing gear like goggles, mouthguard, cleats, gloves, jersey, you name it. The front zippered pocket was perfect for keeping my essentials like keys, phone, wallet, and snacks within easy reach. Now, let us talk about the features. On the right side, there is a handy helmet strap, while the left side has a convenient side stick holder. The insulated water bottle storage keeps my drink cool for a good 4 hours on average. Just keep in mind that you can only carry one stick at a time due to the size of the loop. The top handle and back straps are sturdy and comfy, with padding on the inside and a protective plastic lining on the outside to ensure they hold up over time. The padded back of the bag adds extra comfort for those long hauls. The zippers are strong and durable, I had no worries about them giving up on you. But here is the thing I do wish they could have included. A padded laptop sleeve. In today’s data-driven world, it is pretty much a must-have for versatility. And while the bag stays put on your shoulders, some connector straps would have been a nice touch for added stability. Overall, if you are into colorful designs and need a water-resistant, one-main-compartment bag, the Overtime Tie Dye Junior backpack is definitely worth checking out. Pros Strong 600D Polyester Great Value at $50 Durable and Water-Resistant Helmet Strap Insulated Bottle Storage Unique Dye Design Cons No Connector Straps No Padded Laptop Sleeve Lacrosse Equipment View New Drops on Battle Lax Brine Girl’s Mini Lacrosse Backpack Bag View on sportstop Key Features Position Universal Gender Female Year Released 2023 The Brine’s Girl Mini lacrosse backpack is an absolute gem, especially if your junior is just getting started in lacrosse. Released in 2022, this scaled-down backpack made of heavy-duty fabric caught my eye right away. With dimensions of 20” L x 13” W x 7” D and available in four vibrant color variations, it is just perfect for the younger players. I like how functional and lightweight this bag is for girls. The velcro side loops are a neat touch, they can securely hold a complete stick, which is super handy. There is one main compartment and a front zippered pocket, along with a side mesh wall perfect for small water bottles. Now, do not be fooled by its size. This mini bag packs a punch in terms of utility. I managed to fit in a few lacrosse balls, mouth guard, goggles, and a couple of jerseys without feeling cramped. As for the front pocket, there is plenty of room for keys, wallet, and cell phone. One thing to note though, there is no padding on the inside. The padded top handle and adjustable straps are a nice touch, providing comfort during carrying. Although I do think all bags should come with a padded back for extra comfort, this one does not. It is a small detail, but it can

I have always been intrigued by the StringKing Mark 2 series and the hype surrounding it. I decided to give it a go and see for myself how it performs on the field based on the product features mentioned by StringKing. The StringKing Mark 2 Offense was originally released in 2018, but it caught my attention again when it was relaunched in 2021 with pocket upgrades. This head is specifically designed for offense-minded women midfielders. One of the key improvements in the re-launched StringKing Mark 2 Offense was the inclusion of the Tech Trad pocket, aimed at delivering elite performance. Now, let me tell you what makes the Tech Trad pocket stand out. The Tech Trad pocket appears like a traditional pocket, however, it has modern synthetic mesh and strings for better consistency and control. On the StringKing Mark 2 Offense women’s heads, the Tech Trad pattern showcases controlled diamond shapes in the center, along with two runners on the top. Accuracy of Shot and Pass My experience with the StringKing Mark 2 Offense Tech Trad for women left me with mixed feelings. The tight face shape and higher pocket location were notable features, making the head lightweight yet somewhat stiff. My first impression was that it might not suit high-speed shooters like myself. I found it a bit underpowered for my skill level. However, for midfielders who excel at mid-range shooting, possess sharp stick skills, quick decision-making abilities, and a strong grasp of shooting angles from medium distances, this head will work like a charm for you. The narrow head profile and predefined sweet spot proved beneficial for making accurate passes and seizing opportunities to shoot when gaps appeared in the opposing defense. The high pocket location loaded the balls in the sweet spot faster. I had good ball control and consistency due to the higher pocket location.  I liked the aggressive sidewall and offset design that helped me in transferring power to the shots. It helped me to feed the ball pretty quickly. While the accuracy of shots and passes is commendable, the head’s speed range may not intimidate opponents. You will have to apply your tactical approach to get the job done.  Catching and Cradling The tighter face profile, predefined scoop, aggressive offset, Tech Trad pocket, and flexible stiffness worked well with my catching and cradling skills.  I liked the feel of the ball snuggling in and then staying there. The high pocket maximized ball retention for me. It held the ball well enough during the high-speed catches.  The tight face shape helped me with the ball retention while cradling. This minimized the risk of losing possession. I felt confident as the ball remained stable in the scoop without rolling up and down in the head. The aggressive sidewall and offset design helped me maintain a strong grip on the ball. On the sidewall, it has five struts. Two shorter struts are around the pocket location and three larger struts are placed along the down flare of the head to offer increased ball security for mid-range midfielders. Although I typically prefer stiffer heads for midfielders, the flexible stiffness of the StringKing Mark 2 Offense surprisingly improved my ball feel and control. The flexibility contributed to improving my vertical and sidearm cradling.  Checking I was a bit disappointed with the checking performance of the StringKing Mark 2 Offense. Despite its flexibility, I had expected better results in this aspect. While the head is incredibly lightweight and easy to maneuver, the trade-off for this agility is a reduction in weight around the throat, sidewall, and scoop, contributing to its flexibility. The scoop’s shape is somewhat flatter due to a relatively straighter curve. It worked well for me in dry conditions, but I wished the scoop funnel was a bit deeper as I sometimes struggled to keep the ball stable during checks; it would occasionally bounce off the scoop. For checking, one has to have more

Newest Womens Lacrosse Heads 2019-2024 https://laxdrip.com/womens-lacrosse/womens-heads/newest-womens-lacrosse-heads-2019-2024/ https://laxdrip.com/womens-lacrosse/womens-heads/newest-womens-lacrosse-heads-2019-2024/#respond Thu, 14 Mar 2024 13:08:39 +0000 https://laxdrip.com/?p=19251 Table of Contents Every year, the lacrosse equipment, especially the heads, gets upgraded based on the demands of the players and the market. It is quite exhaustive to research each head separately without having any proper mechanism to compare them.  Therefore, I have created a list of the newest womens lacrosse heads so that you guys can easily browse through the upgrade and make informed choices. Best Newest Womens Lacrosse Heads The following is the list of the best newest womens lacrosse heads: Epoch Purpose 15° 3D Elite Runner Women’s Lacrosse Head View on sportstop Key Features Pocket Location Zone 4 High Stiffness Average # Stringing Holes: Top and Double Sidewalls 4 and 22 on each side Year Released 2023 The Epoch Purpose 15° 3D Elite Runner is the most versatile and trustworthy variant of the Purpose series. This head promised to serve all the needs of an elite player for catching, cradling, passing, shooting, and ground balls. I could not help but wonder about the 3D Elite Runner women’s mesh. Engineered for the new generation of elite athletes, it promised the benefits of mesh with the feel of leather. With its patented 15° bottom rail and zone 4 high pocket, I was interested to see how it would perform on the field. Taking it for a test run, I immediately noticed its capabilities.  High-speed catching became a breeze as the ball nestled snugly into the bigger predefined sweet spot of the pocket. Cradling through the field felt effortless, although I had to make slight adjustments for vertical cradling. Shooting with the 3D Elite Runner was a great experience. The ball rolled up high just before release, ensuring powerful shots with bullseye’s accuracy. I found myself hitting the corner successfully over 90% of the time. With its rounded scoop, the ground balls were easy to scoop up, The tri-diamond stringing added a greater hold to the pocket, giving me superior whip and control. I can affirm that the large, medium, and small diamond stringing pattern ensured a deep pocket with minimal side-to-side rattle. It has four mesh pillars for durable structural integrity. What I particularly appreciated was its sturdy yet flexible build. Made with a composite injected polymer, it maintained its shape without pinching in. The lip on the top of the head also protected the strings from damage. While the Purpose 15° 3D Elite Runner impressed me, it needs breaking in for a consistent release. With its HT Poly technology for all-weather performance and structural integrity,  the Epoch Purpose 15° 3D Elite Runner surely felt like a next-gen offense head to me. Pros Sturdy Build Tri-Diamond Technology 3D Elite Runner Pocket HT Poly Knit Pattern Mesh Pillars Cons Needs to Break in Requires Skill to Use Epoch Purpose 15° Cotton Candy Pro Mesh Women’s Lacrosse Head View on sportstop Key Features Pocket Location Zone 4 High Stiffness Average # Stringing Holes: Top and Double Sidewalls 4 and 22 on each side Year Released 2023 Epoch released a limited Cotton Candy edition of the Purpose 15° Pro Mesh in the summer of 2023. This is one of those few heads that serve all the purposes of an elite lacrosse player. Be it catching, cradling, passing, shooting, or ground balls.  Intrigued by the pending patent 15° bottom rail and zone 4 high pocket, I took it on the field to review its overall performance. I started with high-speed catching. The ball would drive high up in the pocket to its predefined sweet spot. I easily cradled through the field. However, I had to adjust ball placement while vertical cradling. Similar was the case with shooting. Right before I threw powered shots, the ball would roll up high and leave the head with high velocity and accuracy. I hit the corner 7 out of 8 attempts. The rounded scoop helped me with the ground balls. The spine-like stringing created more depth in the pocket. Due to this, I felt more whip, hold, and control over the head.  Personally, I liked the structure and build. It is made with a composite injected polymer that neither felt sturdy nor too flexible. But this did not compromise its utility as the bottom rail is supported by one strut. The head did not pinch in.  The lip on the top of the head protects the strings from damage If you want to have a unique head that performs well and looks aesthetic, this is what you should go for as each head is dyed differently. Pros Versatile 15° Bottom Rail Zone 4 High Pocket Good Whip and Control HT Poly Technology Unique Dye Cons Average Build Requires Skill to Use Lacrosse Equipment View New Drops on Battle Lax Maverik Ascent+ Smiley Complete Lacrosse Stick View on Amazon Key Features Pocket Location Mid | Front Stiffness Stiff Year Released 2023 The Maverik Ascent+ Smiley Complete Stick is made for the do-it-all midfielders like me who like to draw the ball. This one is for all the midfielders who demand nothing but the best from their sticks. Released in 2023, I feel that the Ascent+ head is a good choice for the midfielders because of its rich utility. The Ascent+ features a specialized design with a 22° release angle and enhanced stiffness. The 22° release angle is between the rail and the scoop. It is perfect for midfielders who demand accuracy and power in their game. I have experienced a significant improvement in my shooting accuracy and power thanks to this feature.  I feel that the XRAIL technology has solidified the stability and control of this head. With the enhanced stiffness, I was able to deliver powerful shots and precise passes consistently on the field. Like most midfield heads, it has a tight face profile with a predefined mid-pocket location sweet spot. I did not have to break in the pocket to create a channel for snagging in the ball. I have never been successful at stringing a Mesh and Braided pocket system because it is a tough pattern to

Aspiring Lacrosse Stars: Navigating the World of D1 Scholarships for Women https://laxdrip.com/womens-lacrosse/d1-lacrosse-scholarships/ https://laxdrip.com/womens-lacrosse/d1-lacrosse-scholarships/#respond Thu, 14 Dec 2023 22:01:14 +0000 https://laxdrip.com/?p=15192 Many schools offer opportunities to play competitive women’s lacrosse. However, the annual costs of college can be unaffordable for many students. Scholarships can allow you to cover your annual college costs. But how many D1 scholarships are available for women’s lacrosse? Scholarships can be a necessary part of attending college affordably. In this article we will delve into the world of D1 lacrosse scholarships for young women. We’ll look at the numbers, the requirements, and advice to improve your chances.  Understanding the Landscape of D1 Women’s Lacrosse Scholarships The Basics of D1 Lacrosse Scholarships Let’s start with the basics: Each team can offer up to 12 full scholarships in women’s lacrosse. But here’s the twist: these are rarely given to 12 players. Instead, coaches can split them up, showing parts of each scholarship to more players. This way, more talented athletes get a slice of the scholarship pie. Distribution of Scholarships An average lacrosse women’s Division 1 college roster has 48 players. Colleges use a system called “equivalency scholarships.”  Imagine a giant pie (the total scholarship money), and the coach can slice it in many ways to give pieces to different players. For women’s lacrosse in Division I, teams can split 12 of these “pie slices” among players.  Some might get a bigger slice, and some might get a smaller one, but on average, there is only a ¼ slice available for each player, so consider yourself lucky if you get any more than that.  Unfortunately, it is very rare to get a lacrosse women’s scholarship that covers total yearly college costs. Key Factors Influencing D1 Lacrosse Scholarships Academic Achievement But it’s not all about lacrosse. Your brain power matters, too! Coaches want players who are also stars in the classroom. Good grades show you’re committed and can handle the tricky balancing act of being a student and an athlete. It’s like having a solid defense in lacrosse; your grades defend your spot on the team. Positional Need and Team Strategy Each team has a unique recipe for success; you could be the secret ingredient. Coaches think about what positions they need to fill – they may need a fast attacker or a sturdy defender. If you fit their missing piece, you could be in luck! As a member of a D1 team, you learn how to work with others like a cog in an efficient machine.  Character and Leadership Qualities Finally, who you are as a person counts a lot. Coaches love players who are good at lacrosse and school and are also great team players, leaders, and kind-hearted. They’re looking for players who lift the team’s spirit and are dependable. Volunteering, joining other clubs, and being present in your community are key ways to show your leadership skills. Accepting the Collegiate Lacrosse Journey: Going Beyond Scholarships Playing D1 lacrosse is a journey that profoundly impacts your life; it’s not only about getting scholarships. This is not only a skill that will help you in the game, but in everything you do, from school projects to your future profession. There’s also diligence and discipline. D1 lacrosse requires commitment and work from its players on the field as well as in their academics. This discipline is an incredible tool that may help you succeed in sports and other endeavors. Consider your relationships and friendships as well. Your colleagues wind up becoming like extended family. These connections may provide you with a support system and a lifetime of memories. Let us not forget personal development. On the D1 lacrosse field, overcoming obstacles, enjoying successes, and even handling defeats teach you important lessons and life skills.  You can gain self-assurance, flexibility, and the ability to handle any challenge that comes your way. Thus, keep in mind that D1 lacrosse is a trip that offers invaluable experiences, friendships, and lessons in addition to being a game. It’s a path that prepares you for life. Wrapping it up Remember that each match brings you closer to your dreams. Every moment is an opportunity to shine, whether you’re tearing up the field. taking your exams, or inspiring your team.  A D1 scholarship requires more than just skill; it also requires commitment, tenacity, and a deep love for the sport.  Keep these essential points in mind: Hone your lacrosse skills. Stay sharp in your studies. Fill the gap your team needs. Be the best team player and leader you can be. These are the building blocks of a successful lacrosse career and a fulfilling life journey. The field is where dreams come true as much as where you play the game. You can achieve your goals with a little bit of strategy, perseverance, and hard work.
