Top 3 Wrist Wraps for Lacrosse Players

Are you looking to upgrade your gym accessories with wrist wraps for lacrosse players but feeling overwhelmed by the sea of options? Fear not! We’ve got your back (and wrists). These aren’t just accessories; they’re your allies in crushing those PBs and staying injury-free. We’re here to break down the nitty-gritty details of the top 3 contenders.

Proper Wrist Wrapping Technique.

But first, we must point out that the proper wrist-wrapping technique is often overlooked. Since the goal of the wraps is to support the wrist, we recommend putting the wrap along the most stressed part of the wrist. Even the product photos do show the proper location where the wraps should sit on your wrist.

This means having the center of the wrap line up with the center of your wrist joint. Start at the base of the wrist and wrap upwards towards your fingers. The top of the wrist wrap should end at the base of your thumb.

Common mistakes include only wrapping the forearm or not tightening the wraps hard enough. For my max lifts, I wrap my wrists as tight as I can, go right into the lift, and then quickly remove the wraps to prevent long periods of poor circulation.

1) Rogue Wrist Wraps

Key Features:

  • Adjustable stretch material for perfect fit
  • Two-sided wrist padding to avoid injuries
  • Available in 3 different sizes
  • Easily washable
  • Nice and clean stitch design

Warrior’s Lacrosse Protective is an ultralight and comfortable wrist guard from 2024. I paired them with low-profile gloves, perfectly filling the gap between gloves and elbow pads

The two thick padded wrist guards add the right amount of protection without feeling bulky. It was helpful when dealing with checks and slashes from defenders. Although the sides have no padding, the bilateral protection pads provide good coverage.

The break pattern with the Lycra stretch material ensures a flexible fit. However, the fit felt slightly restrictive initially, but it loosened up after a few sessions. Unlike other guards, it doesn’t bunch up despite constant wrist movement.

Moreover,  the fabric is exceptionally durable. I have been using it for a year and love the moisture-absorbing fabric, which keeps my wrists dry during long practices. The pads maintained their shape, and there were no broken threads.

Overall, the Warrior Lacrosse Protective is the most reliable wrist guard for attackers to avoid wrist injuries.

3) Rip Toned Wrist Wraps

Key Features:

  • Sturdy material for maximum support
  • Adjustable fit for comfort
  • Multiple colors and designs
  • Comes in stiff and flex-fit

Let’s talk about the rip-toned wrist wraps. This American-based company provides us with 13 color choices and two stiffnesses. For those looking to complete heavy movements with the wrists locked, we would recommend the stiff fit. Lifts like bench press, shoulder press, squat, and deadlift all benefit from a more stiff wrap.

For a more versatile wrist wrap, we recommend the flex-fit wraps. These wraps are great for supporting the wrists underneath boxing gloves or for Olympic lifts. If you are new to wraps then going with a more flexible wrap might be a better start.
