Who Should Buy this Shaft?
Many new players asked for the Maverik Caliber Attack lacrosse shaft review, and if I share my experience, it performs well on the field. Due to the scandium-titanium alloy construction, it’s on the heavier side of the attack shafts yet delivers powerful shots.
Maverik released the Caliber attack lacrosse shaft in 2024, and it’s tough enough for attackers and offensive middies. It bears defender checks and slashes without bending or denting, which is great for cradling the ball in tight spaces.
However, I wouldn’t suggest it to young players, as its stiffness and weight might make it harder to control the stick during loose ball battles. Otherwise, it is a stiff lacrosse stick with a better strength-to-weight ratio.

Shape, Material, and Weight
The shape is fairly standard, with a slight concave profile. The edges are overly smooth, but unlike the Warrior Evo V Alloy Core shaft, it doesn’t have deep facets. I got a comfortable hold even during long practice sessions on the field.
The strong and thick-walled scandium-titanium alloy construction is the highlight of the Maverik caliber attack lacrosse shaft review. It’s extremely sturdy and features a bead-blasted finish. Thus, I got a perfect grip on the stick. The texture feels slightly rubberized, similar to the sandblast finish found on most alloy shafts.
Although I prefer a more pronounced texture, the shape and grip finish worked well. I could maintain control during quick cuts and aggressive dodges, even when my hands were sweating. Thus, I didn’t worry about the lacrosse shaft slipping or losing control.
Besides, it weighs 6.5 ounces. Despite the high shooting speed, it felt quite heavy compared to other composite shafts. Regardless, I prefer the Maverik Caliber attack lacrosse shaft because of its better durability.
However, if you want a lighter carbon shaft with alloy strength, go for the Warrior Evo V attack shaft with Alloy Core Strength and carbon flex.
Flex & End Cap
I found it extremely stiff, with no flex along 30″ inches in length. It gave me confidence when shooting or passing on the run. The shooting speed was consistent when delivering a quick pass into the crease or ripping a shot from the outside.
I didn’t notice any spread on shots. However, If you’re used to composite shafts with a bit of snap, you will find it slightly rigid. It didn’t have the whip that sped up the longer passes and quick-release shots.
It features the adjustable ABE (Adjustable Butt-End), which is super functional. There’s a small screw that could slide back and forth, letting me position it just right.
The new ABE has a silicone ring inside, ensuring it stays snug against the alloy. Usually, the pointed ends of the butt end ring rip my glove palm. However, the exterior of Maverik’s signature butt end has smooth edges that don’t tear gloves.
I don’t want to overstate the aesthetics while writing the Maverik Caliber attack lacrosse shaft review, but I loved the navy blue shaft. It matches my team’s color and looks cool.
Near the butt end, parallel lines are running along the shaft for about one-third of its length over the blue and black variants. These lines add symmetry and texture to the matte finish.
